Graduate Trainee Engineer

Role and Responsibilities
- Perform scoping and plant surveys to understand customer processes and steam systems. Identify requirements and provide solutions to save energy by increasing steam system uptime.
- Conduct steam trap surveys and prepare reports for trap selection, best engineering practices, and trap leakage. Submit proposals with payback calculations.
- Understand the market and location to identify potential customers. This includes cold calling, visiting industrial estates, networking through digital media, and participating in industrial association meetings.
- Develop a database of steam system information for each customer, collecting details such as annual fuel bill, specific steam consumption, trap uptime, condensate recovery factor, and specific fuel consumption.
- Create proposals for energy improvements with payback calculations by reviewing and analyzing the steam system database.
- Focus on application- and solution-based sales for products such as steam traps, condensate recovery systems, hot water generators, control valves, steam flow meters, control systems, and boiler automation systems.
- Follow company guidelines for proposal preparation, maintain proper nomenclature, and collaborate effectively within a team.
- Update daily reports in the CRM system.
- Customer visits: Target of 10 customers per week.
- Offer generation: Target of 5 offers per week.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, or Instrumentation).
- Basic knowledge of reading and understanding P&ID loops.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Knowledge of process and industrial applications in two industries (e.g., Food & Beverage, Brewery, Chemical, Cogeneration Power Plant).
- Good sales skills; willing to travel frequently to visit customers.
Preferred Skills
- Ability to conduct steam trap and plant surveys.
- Knowledge of basic steam engineering and control instruments is an advantage.
- Strong sense of teamwork and social responsibility, embodying a family spirit.
Work and Assignments upon Joining
- Initially, the Graduate Trainee Engineer will be assigned a specific project lasting 3-6 months in areas such as energy benchmarking or steam system performance evaluation in industries like food and beverage, textiles, and paper. During this project, the candidate will receive training and gain exposure to technical evaluations of plant systems, developing new skills and business insights.
- Upon project completion, engineers will join the Technical Sales team as Application Sales Engineers, managing a grid of 50 customers. They will be responsible for delivering energy-saving and steam system improvement projects, expanding the customer base, and achieving sales targets. As technical sales engineers, they will serve as the single point of contact for technical and commercial issues, representing the brand as ambassadors.
