Job Description: Graduate Trainee Engineer
Roles and Responsibilities:
• Perform scoping and plant surveys to understand the customer process and steam system, identify requirements, and provide solutions to save energy by increasing the uptime of the steam system.
• Conduct steam trap surveys and create survey reports for trap selection, good engineering practices, trap leakage, and submit proposals with payback analysis.
• Understand the market and location, identify grid customers by making cold calls, visiting industrial estates, networking through digital media, and participating in industrial association meetings.
• Develop a steam system database for each customer in the grid, collecting information such as annual fuel bills, specific steam consumption, trap uptime, condensate recovery factor, and specific fuel consumption.
• Prepare proposals for energy improvement with payback calculations by reviewing and analyzing the steam system database.
• Focus on application and solution-based sales for products such as steam traps, condensate recovery systems, hot water generators, control valves, steam flow meters, control systems, and boiler automation systems.
• Create proposals and follow company instructions and nomenclature while working as part of a team.
• Report: Update the CRM system daily.
• Customer visits: 10 customers per week.
• Offer generation: 5 offers per week.
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical/Chemical/Instrumentation).
• Basic knowledge of reading and understanding PID loops.
• Good communication and presentation skills.
• Process and industrial application knowledge in two industries (Food & Beverage, Brewery, Chemical, Cogeneration power plant).
• Good sales skills, ready to travel and visit customers most of the time.
Preferred Skills:
• Ability to conduct steam trap/plant surveys.
• Knowledge of basic steam engineering and control instruments is advantageous.
• A people-oriented, family spirit with social responsibility.
Work & Assignment on Joining Us:
• Initially, the Graduate Trainee Engineer will be assigned a specific project for 3-6 months in areas of energy benchmarking/evaluation of steam system performance in Philippine industries such as food and beverage, textile, and paper. During the project, the candidate will gain exposure and training to perform technical evaluations of plants and is expected to develop new learnings, business potential, and technical insights for Forbes Marshall.
• Upon completion of the project, engineers will join the FM Technical Sales team as Application Sales Engineers with a grid of 50 customers, accountable for delivering energy-saving and steam system improvement projects for a set of process industries. They will be responsible for increasing the customer base and meeting sales targets through customer ownership. As technical sales engineers, they will be the single point of contact for addressing all technical and commercial issues of Forbes Marshall clients and will serve as FM brand ambassadors.
